Privacy Notice

DeFiEscrow is a decentralized protocol. We prioritize your privacy by not collecting personal data. However, blockchain transactions are public by nature.

1. Non-Custodial & Registration-Free

DeFiEscrow is a non-custodial interface. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or disclose your name. You interact with the Protocol using your own self-custodied wallet. We never have access to your private keys or seed phrases.

2. Public Blockchain Data

By using DeFiEscrow, you acknowledge that your wallet address and all transactions conducted through the Protocol are recorded on the public Ethereum blockchain. Blockchain data is permanent, immutable, and publicly accessible to anyone. We do not control this data and cannot hide or delete your on-chain history.

3. Information We Collect

We strive to minimize data collection. The following information may be processed:

  • Public Wallet Address: Necessary to interact with the smart contracts.
  • Local Storage: We may use browser local storage to remember your wallet connection status for a better user experience.
  • Anonymized Usage Data: We may collect basic website metrics (e.g., page views) to help improve the interface. This data is not linked to your personal identity or wallet address.

4. Third-Party Services

When you use the Protocol, you interact with third-party services:

  • Wallet Providers: (e.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect) have their own privacy policies regarding how they handle your IP address and wallet data.
  • RPC Providers: (e.g., Infura, Alchemy) facilitate your connection to the blockchain and may see your IP address and transaction data.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party tools you use to interact with the Protocol.

5. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you have certain data protection rights. However, the unique nature of blockchain technology means that the "Right to Erasure" (or "Right to be Forgotten") cannot be exercised regarding data already broadcast to the blockchain.

By using the Protocol, you understand and accept that we cannot delete or modify data that resides on the blockchain.

6. Security

While the Protocol uses secure smart contract logic, the security of your funds depends on your own wallet security practices. Always ensure you are on the official defiescrow.io domain.
